Introducing Julia B Custom Linens

Peacock Alley is thrilled to introduce Julia B Custom Linens to our fabulous lineup of vendors.  Julia B is the inspiration of Juila Berger.  Born in Japan of a Japanese mother and American father, Julia grew up in Tokyo and San Francisco.  Her custom bed and table linen designs combine Asian simplicity with European tradition.

We were immediately drawn to Julia B's beautiful monograms, unique styles, and sophisticated colors.  The monograms are all done by hand and they are undoubtly the most stylish monograms we have ever seen.  They are far from the standard 3-letter, script monogram seen every where else, offering a variety of fonts and designs for 1, 2, and 3 letter monograms.  They are truly a work of art, complimented by the beautifully crafted linens on which they are embroidered.

Julia B has 11 bed linen collections but don't let that fool you.  The possibilites are endless when considering you select from 23 colors of 100% linen made in Ireland, 2 colors of 100% Egyptian Cotton 231 thread count percale sheeting, and virtually any thread color you can dream up.  With so many options, it is possible to create just about any look or color combination.  Like the monograms,  all of the embroidery and banding are done by hand.  From the simplest hemstitch to the most intricate pattern, the attention to detail is breathtaking.

Color Color Color!!! The options are absolutely amazing.  They vary from bright and bold for a funky look to subdued and mellow for a more classic setting.  The linen colors are very sophisticated (see a few colors below) and the wide selection of thread colors makes it easy to match any color you are already using or to create a truly one of a kind bedding ensemble.

In additon to bed linens, Julia B also makes table linens with the same quality and attention to detail.  Her tabletop line includes cocktail napkins, guest towels, dinner napkins, placemats, and napkin rings. These products are created with her wide  selection of linen and thread options.

Peacock Alley can hardly wait to start placing your custom orders. Come in and check out our fabulous sample book.  We are putting together an event to feature and formally introduce Julia B in the spring. Please stay tuned for updates.

Upholstered Headboards

Upholstered headboards are a fabulous yet reasonably priced way to update any bedroom in a snap.  They come in all different shapes and sizes and can be molded to fit any design scheme...modern, traditional, and the list goes on.  Upholstered headboards are perfect for the finest master bedroom down to the often forgotten child's room.  A great idea for a child's room is to monogram the headboard with their name or initials. It is a great way to personalize the room.

Fabric selection and overall shape are key to achieving your desired look.  A dramatic shape, bold color, or large pattern can steal the show while a more subtle silouette or simple fabric can blend in with what you already have.  The fabric possibilites are endless, the silouette options vary from simple to elaborate, and the finished product will be timeless.   The time frame from fabric selection to installtion typically takes a speedy 6-8 weeks.  At that rate, you could transform a room by spring time.  In addition to a quick turn around time, most headboards do not take much yardage which helps keep the cost down.

Our creative and knowledgable in-house designers are happy to assist you in creating your custom headboard. We have a wide selection of fabrics here at the shop and if we don't have what you are looking for we can definitely track it down.  Feel free to call 1-800-701-5861 or stop in (123 West Franklin Street, Chapel Hill, NC) with any questions you may have.

A few tips from our designers...

1.Select a height for your headboard that is at least 6-12 inches above the top of the highest pillow on the bed.  You do want to see it after all.

2.Consider options that will make the headboard look more unique such as nailhead trim, contrast cording, quilted fabric, or a custom designed shape.

3. For a finished look, have a custom dust ruffle or pillows shams made in the same farbic as the headboard.
